A bit about me

Hello! I'm Tina, Artist, colourist and creator of "Art that makes you smile"

Nestled on the rugged west coast of New Zealand, I call Castlecliff Beach, Whanganui, home. Alongside my partner Chris and our two children, Ali and Maximus, we share our space with Cookie the cat and our newest addition, Cliff the dog. Though I enjoy socializing, I also cherish moments of solitude, often spending hours immersed in painting and creating. Art has been my passion since childhood, offering me a sense of equilibrium and inner tranquility. I firmly believe in the continuous expansion of oneself through learning new skills and pursuing our dreams.. My aim is to create art that brings a smile to peoples faces, invokes memories and tells a story. This is my mission and gift to the world.

My background

I grew up on a farm in Rangataua, New Zealand, at the foot of Mount Ruapehu. Skiing, gymnastics, and farm work filled my days. I spent years as a Ski Patroller, with seasons in Japan and Canada, skiing until my feet begged for rest!

The wanderlust gripped me, leading to years spent traveling and working abroad. In Denmark, I had my debut solo exhibit and painted murals for a kindergarten, with the kids helping me improve my Danish as I worked. Across Africa, I exchanged my art for accommodation, food, and occasional money. Art has guided my adventurous journey, leading me to settle in Whanganui upon my return to New Zealand. There, I opened my own shop/gallery, where I sold my creations for 7 1/2 years. Transitioning to motherhood, I closed the shop but continued my business by attending major markets nationwide, baby strapped to my front. Now, I operate from home, selling through events, venues, and my website.

My Studio

Working from home gives me the freedom to create in my happy place.
